FAQ

THE FACILITY
What amenities are offered in each guest room?
In the main building, our guest rooms each have a private bath with a shower, bath mat, mirror, cup dispenser, towels and soap. Twelve rooms feature one full bed and one twin bed, while two rooms have three twin beds. Each room is equipped with sheets, blankets, bed spreads, pillows, an alarm clock, fan and a Bible.

The Annex Building has seven guest rooms, each equipped with two twin beds, a sink and mirror, sheets, blankets, bed spreads, pillows, an alarm clock and a Bible. While rooms do not have private baths, there are two shared bathrooms with showers. The Annex Building also features a living room/kitchenette.

Do guest rooms at The Good News Center have TVs?
You will not find televisions or telephones in our guest rooms. The Good News Center maintains a retreat atmosphere, free from the noise of daily life. Our guests often comment that the lack of a television offers them a wonderful opportunity to share with others or privately reflect.

Does The Good News Center have Internet access?
Wireless Internet access is available in the Sun Room and may be used at the retreat master's discretion.

Are cell phones allowed?
While The Good News Center does not forbid the use of cell phones, it is up to individual retreat masters whether cell phones are allowed.

Do I have to bring my own sheets?
Sheets are provided in each guest room.

PLANNING A CONFERENCE/RETREAT
How do I plan meals for my retreat?
The Good News Center utilizes a caterer and we offer a menu with a variety of choices. If you would require something not found on the menu, the caterer can usually work with you on the request.

How far in advance do I need to secure the date(s) of my conference?
We recommend that you give us a call as soon as you know you are interested. While we do have some groups that book a year in advance in order to secure their dates, we ask that, if possible, you book with us at least four months in advance. But, of course, if that is not possible, we will work with you to plan your event in a shorter time period as well.

Can my company use your facility for training?
While spiritual programming is our focus, many companies use our facility for conferences and training, especially during the week. We offer several conference rooms that can accomodate groups of various sizes and we will work with you to plan snacks and/or meals. Audio/visual equipment is also available. Several companies use our facility on a regular basis and find it to be private, restful and perfect for their training. Please contact us to discuss dates and options available.

I am going to attend a retreat at The Good News Center. What do I need to bring with me?
Every retreat is different and participants may be contacted by their retreat master with further information.
