Jesus said, “Love one another.” What does that look like? Everyone’s answer would be different. We, at The Good News Center, have decided to help those less fortunate through a program of the same name by being the hands of Jesus.
For the Christmas season, we collected toiletries with a goal of making 80 bags for men and 80 for women to distribute to the clients of Hope House. While government aid helps those with financial need, those funds can only be used for food. Hygiene products are not included.
Our Love One Another program has started the new year off with warmth and love.
Wednesday, February 5th we delivered crocheted baby blankets and infant hats and mittens to CareNet along with lap blankets and shawls to The Pines Nursing/Rehabilitation Facility.
Thank you to all who donated your time, talents and materials.
You have made this possible!❤️
Both CareNet and The Pines were truly grateful for all the items.
This is a very successful program and it continues with a group of ladies who are working on baby blankets, lap blankets and shawls. If you would like to learn how to crochet, please join us we will teach you.
Our next project for Love One Another is our diaper and baby formula drive. We are collecting donations of newborn and size 1 baby diapers and any type of baby formula. All donations will be distributed to CareNet Pregnancy Center of CNY and Historic Old St. John's Church in Utica. We will collect until March 31st. Thank you for all your support!
If you know of a need that we can fulfill, please let us know and, if we can, we will try to accommodate it. Thank you to all who have participated in this program.
Our next crocheting session will be Wednesday, March 4th 12:30-2 PM here at The Good News.
